About Resume Builder

Resume Builder walks you through an ATS-friendly resume step by step with a live preview, then downloads it as a searchable PDF, an editable Word file, or a file ready to open in Google Docs. Every download is plain, single-column text with standard section headings. Your draft is saved in your browser only.

How to use

  1. Fill in each step - Contact details, Professional summary, Skills, Professional experience, Education, and the optional Projects, Certifications, and Additional information.
  2. Watch the Live preview update as you type. It matches the downloaded file.
  3. Once contact details, a summary, at least one skill, and one experience or education entry are filled in, the download buttons unlock.
  4. Pick Download PDF for job applications, Download Word (DOCX) to keep editing, or Open in Google Docs to edit in your Google account.

Frequently asked questions

Is my resume saved?

Yes, as a draft in your browser's local storage. It is never uploaded. Clearing your browser data or using another device will not keep the draft.

Will my resume work with applicant tracking systems (ATS)?

Yes. The PDF and Word files contain real, selectable text in one column, with standard headings such as Professional Experience and Education, and no images, tables, or text boxes.

Why are the download buttons locked?

Recruiters and ATS software expect a few basics. Add your contact details, a professional summary, at least one skill, and one experience or education entry to unlock downloads.

How does Open in Google Docs work?

It downloads an editable Word file and opens Google Docs in a new tab. Upload the file there from File > Open > Upload, and Google Docs converts it for editing.

Can I add a photo?

No. Photos and graphics often confuse ATS software, and many countries advise leaving them off, so the builder keeps your resume text-only.
